Fab links again, many thanks! However, Plumtree Court is not a trompe l’oeil, it’s real – more or less. In fact there was at least another one on the other side of the building; you can walk through it, but it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. But yes, definitely a case of Poor man’s Rue de Rivoli.:-)
On the other hand, hat tip to the architect, this is a great play with perspective.
