Thomas Wrede’s last series “Real landscapes” are manipulations of landscapes. By adding artificial details into real nature he creates a staged scene that looks authentic at first. For the observer it becomes difficult to see what is actually real and what is unreal. The resemblance to model construction kits is striking. In effect he creates dreamlike scenes of nature or perhaps even nightmares. [Wikipedia]

Im Ratinger Hof in der Ratinger Straße in Düsseldorf gab es in den frühen 70er Jahren Kunst und ab 1977 Punk. Deutsche Bands wie Mittagspause, DAF und Fehlfarben wurden dort gegründet und Bands aus den USA und England wie Pere Ubu und Wire hatten im Hof ihre ersten Auftritte in Deutschland. Dieser jetzt neu erschienene, großformatige Foto- und Textband dokumentiert die wilden Jahre 1977–1985.
